Work-based Learning

The key feature of Vocational Education and Training (VET) Providers is to prepare their learners to meet the rapidly changing skills needs and challenges of the labour market.
Work-based learning (WBL) allows learners to acquire the required skills and competences through activities carried out at a workplace and/or on a simulated working environment at school, with support from their teachers and under the guidance of experienced trainers/tutors.
To carry out successful WBL, with positive impact on learners, it is important to ensure that VET providers, teachers and tutors/trainers cooperate and communicate effectively, and are able to plan all activities in line with educational goals and objectives, labour market requirements and needs, and with respect for cultural differences.

Activities

EfVET Work-Based Learning Working Group (WBL WG) aims to create a pool of experts in this field, internal and external to EfVET (i.e., EfVET Members and representatives of other organisations) that cooperate, contribute and support developments in WBL, in the context of industry-driven qualifications, Industry 5.0 and community-oriented curricula, with a positive impact on the main beneficiaries of WBL: VET Providers, Teachers, Trainers/Tutors and Learners.
