International Youth Day

Brussels, August 12th – EfVET celebrates International Youth Day, as part of its role in shaping education.

VET represents a major cornerstone for youth’s learning: preparing young people for future jobs, often using Work Based Learning and #Apprenticeship approaches for Initial VET and by equipping them with essential soft skills to thrive in a a disruptive world.

This year’s theme, “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond”, highlights the unique role of youth in translating global ambitions into community-driven realities. Local and regional governments play a key role in engaging the communities they serve by integrating youth priorities into local and regional strategies and fostering partnerships with other organizations such as VET centres. Through project-based learning, apprenticeships and partnerships, VET empowers the youth to implement solutions that directly address Sustainable Development Goals. A unique opportunity for the youth to express one’s passions, interests and abilities and to contribute to building a brighter future.
