I-Restart Third Annual Meeting and World Food Day

As the world marks World Food Day 2025, calling for global collaboration to build a sustainable and food-secure future, the I-RESTART project, in which EfVET is part of, exemplifies this shared ambition. The project’s third annual meeting took place in Wageningen (NL) between October 8th and 9th, 2025, bringing together partners from 11 countries to advance efforts in reskilling and upskilling Europe’s agrifood and veterinary workforce. Through digital innovation, intersectoral cooperation, and a strong alignment with the Green Deal, I-RESTART continues to strengthen Europe’s capacity to transform agrifood systems into more inclusive, resilient, and future-ready ecosystems.

Hosted by Wageningen University & Research, this meeting was an opportunity for all partners to discuss the achievements reached so far in the project (including the identification of the skills needs in Agri-Food and Veterinary sectors, and the development of a set of training courses for the Food Industry, Animal Production and Veterinary fields, piloted by all VET partners of the consortium until January 2026).

The meeting also allowed partners to set course for the upcoming I-RESTART activities, including work-based learning experiences for the students involved in the mentioned pilots, and the development of a micro-credential certification and an accreditation scheme which will foster the official recognition of I-RESTART training courses by the VET systems across Europe.

As leader of the Quality Management and Certification Work Package of the project, EfVET contributed for the discussions held during this important meeting, specifically regarding the ECVET and EQAVET principles that will guide all of the certification schemes to be developed in the project.

At the end of the meeting, partners decided that the next (and last) Annual Meeting of I-RESTART will be held in Brussels (BE) in April 2026, in parallel with the Agri-Food Pact for Skills Annual Event (scheduled for April 21st and 22nd).
