Cultural and Creative Industries WG: A new initiative of EfVET, in synergy with MOSAIC CoVEs project

The Manifesto of the Creative Pact for Skills (CPfS) highlights the importance of fostering a talented and skilled workforce across all Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) sectors. Moreover, recent studies (2024) conducted by the EC mention that the CCI is facing major challenges, mostly connected to the sustainability and innovativeness of the sector, and to the need for ensuring its growth and competitiveness.

Aware of this reality, and given its active involvement in strategic Erasmus+ funded projects focused on Arts and Crafts (MOSAIC), and on the CCI in general (CYANOTYPES), EfVET gathered some of its members that are partners in MOSAIC and are active in the CCI sectors (SEPR (FR), Materahub (IT), Escola Profissional Árvore (PT), and Puglia Culture (IT)), and created this new WG, which extends to other EfVET members interested to join, as well as to other VET and CCI actors external to EfVET willing to contribute for the quality and relevance of the activities and results of the WG.

The scope and main purposes of the CCI WG are detailed on its Concept Note, jointly prepared by the above-mentioned EfVET members during meetings held in the first months of 2025, with support from EfVET Secretariat. Those purposes include:

  • Provide networking opportunities that lead to potential partnerships at local, regional, national, European and international levels;
  • Foster the exchange of knowledge and expertise between stakeholders;
  • Implement initiatives that reply to the skills needs of the CCI while fostering professional development of VET Teachers/Trainers in the sector;
  • Provide a VET perspective to the EC and to the CPfS in the form of policy/advocacy contributions, while fostering dialogues with relevant initiatives.

This WG does not follow the traditional EfVET approach for the creation of its working groups as it is rooted on LinkedIn to extend its range to a wider group of VET and CCI stakeholders. Given that MOSAIC project already has a LinkedIn page (MOSAIC Ambassador’s Group) dedicated to gather VET/CCI stakeholders, EfVET decided that the best approach would be to harness the existence of this Group and have the CCI WG embedded there while the project is being implemented (until May 2026).

MOSAIC Ambassador’s Group / EfVET CCI WG

After this period, EfVET will ensure the sustainability of the Ambassador’s Group under the umbrella of EfVET CCI WG, an approach that allows to create synergies between EfVET members active in the CCIs, partners of projects that address the sector and other key stakeholders, under an active pool of VET and CCI experts coming from across Europe and beyond, who will be engaged in this WG’s multiple initiatives.
